My Story

A love of unusual lighting turned into a glass passion...

I remember as a little girl going to my grandparents house and looking at their beautiful "Gone With the Wind" Lamps. I loved the painted glass and how they stood out in the room. I have always loved Tiffany lamps and wondered how they were made.

Fast forward for a need to express myself creatively, I decided to take an afternoon class on mosaics. While I had a great deal of fun, I was more intrigued by the stained glass we used to make our creations. Doing a simple internet search, I found one of the largest stained glass studios in the state if not the country right in my backyard.

My first trip to the studio was the beginning of my glass journey. I am one of those perhaps "rare" people who like to both do fused glass and stained glass. There are some similarities when working with fusing or foiling and soldering for stained glass and there are differences. I am fortunate to enjoy both. My love of glass has focused mostly in fused glass jewelry and stained glass lighting. I love jewelry that makes a statement and I tend to create jewelry for people who feel the same way.

Someday, I hope to be able to enjoy this passion full time and retire from my long career in non profit management. Until then, I fit it in whether it's early morning, after work and weekends. I hope you enjoy AMFM Glass Creations as much as I did creating them.

"My hope is that my art showcases glass as an art medium for all to love as much as I do."
