SPIRITED * COLORFUL * JOYFUL
The Artist
A love of unusual lighting turned into a glass passion...
I remember as a little girl going to my grandparents house and looking at their beautiful "Gone With the Wind" Lamps. I loved the painted glass and how they stood out in the room. I have always loved Tiffany lamps and wondered how they were made.

Yes, I take commissions in both fused and traditional stained glass panels.
There are many techniques depending on what is being made but all involve firings in a kiln. I
am in partnership with my kilns (Big Guy and Little Guy – yes they have names) to achieve the
desired outcome of each piece.
Think of glass in three categories cold, warm and hot. Cold is traditional stained glass which
involves careful glass cutting and grinding, foiling and finally soldering the pieces together to
make a design. Warm glass is fusing which involves cutting pieces of glass to make your design
and then placing them in kiln and firing them to fuse the pieces together for their final look
usually no more than 1700 degrees. Hot glass is glass blowing which involves a furnace, and
manipulation of molten glass on the end of a metal pole and often with the glass heated up to
2500 degrees.
I do have some pieces that can be personalized so please contact me for more information.
It depends what the event is and where. I have brought my glass items and sold them at private
local events and anyone is interested to please contact me to have a conversation about your
need.
a. I have always loved stained glass and glass lamps. My grandfather collected “Gone with
the Wind” Lamps that I always admired. I took an afternoon class on mosaics once and
that led me to stained glass which ultimately led me to fusing.
b. Taking a simple afternoon class to experiment in various mediums (pottery, fusing,
stained glass, painting) may give you an idea of what you enjoy the most to eventually
pursue.
